Meet Dr. Frances Bigay
Licensed Psychologist supporting growth, healing, and self-discovery
Frances Bigay, Psy.D.
My name is Dr. Frances Bigay, and I am a Licensed Psychologist specializing in therapy and psychological testing. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida State University and went on to complete my master’s and doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Nova Southeastern University.
I’m a Licensed Psychologist in Florida and New York and PsyPact-Authorized to practice in 40+ PsyPact States. For a full list of PsyPact approved states, please visit: PSYPACTMap - Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT). I offer telehealth psychological services on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
My passion lies in helping adolescents and young adults navigate life’s challenges and build meaningful, fulfilling lives. I provide support for individuals experiencing depressive symptoms, anxiety, ADHD, autism, academic stress, relationship difficulties, and self-esteem challenges. My therapeutic approach emphasizes creating a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to make positive changes.
I use a strengths-based approach while drawing on evidence-based strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Dynamics, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. This integrative style allows me to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs, helping them develop insight, learn practical tools, and build resilience.
I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth. Whether we are exploring the impact of past experiences, addressing current stressors, or building new coping strategies, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, resilient, and confident in moving forward.
If you are considering therapy, I encourage you to reach out for a complimentary consultation to see if we would be a good fit. Finding the right therapist can make all the difference, and I would be honored to support you on your journey.
Right now, you might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or unsure of how to move forward. Maybe you’re navigating academic stress, relationship struggles, a new diagnosis, or changes that feel too big to handle alone. Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to carry it by yourself anymore.
I work with adolescents and young adults — people who are juggling life’s transitions, feeling weighed down by anxiety or depression, managing ADHD or autism, or simply needing a safe space to process. In therapy, every part of you is welcome: your worries, frustrations, hopes, and dreams. This is a space to breathe, cry, laugh, vent, and discover what you truly need.
This might be your very first time seeking therapy, or perhaps you’ve tried it before but didn’t find it helpful. Maybe you know exactly what’s wrong, or maybe you’re just aware that something feels “off” and you’re ready for change. Wherever you’re starting from, you’re not alone. I’m here to support you.
Imagine waking up and not feeling weighed down by dread. Imagine feeling calmer, clearer, and better equipped to handle whatever the day brings, knowing you have someone in your corner who listens without judgment and meets you where you are.
Together, we’ll navigate what’s challenging you, build tools to manage your emotions, and develop resilience for the future. If you’re ready to take the next step, I’m ready to walk alongside you.
A Place to Show Up as Your True Self…
I believe that everyone deserves a space where they can be fully themselves, without judgment. Talking with friends or family can be helpful, and self-help books and podcasts have their place—but nothing replaces the value of a supportive professional who will sit with you during difficult times and help you process what you are feeling.
I know that opening up can feel scary or overwhelming, but sitting with your emotions is an essential part of growth. In our sessions, I strive to create a space where you can feel safe, heard, and supported as you explore your experiences. Therapy with me provides a calm, compassionate environment where you can slow down, reflect, and gain insight into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
I bring warmth, empathy, and authenticity to every session. In return, I invite you to be open, honest, and willing to explore your inner world, even when it feels uncomfortable. Together, we’ll focus on your growth, resilience, and understanding of yourself.

If you’re curious about therapy, I invite you to schedule a complimentary consultation. Finding the right therapist is an important step, and I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
FAQs
-
Yes! I accept Aetna, United, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Cigna.
-
I accept all major credit cards, HSA’s (Health Savings Account), FSA’s (Flexible Savings Account), and Care Credit.
CareCredit is a healthcare credit card that helps make mental health, medical, dental, and other wellness services more affordable. It allows you to pay for services upfront and then pay off the balance over time with flexible monthly payment options. Many clients find it helpful for managing the cost of therapy or psychological testing when they prefer not to pay in full at the time of service.

I understand that life happens, and schedules can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a late fee. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, the session will be considered a no-show so that I can protect the time set aside for you. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping sessions consistent and productive.

Your first appointment will be an intake session, which is focused on getting to know you and understanding your unique needs. During this time, we’ll talk about your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy or evaluation. I may ask about your personal history, daily experiences, and any challenges you’ve been facing, as well as the strengths and supports you already have.
The intake session is also a chance for you to ask questions, share what you’re hoping to gain, and get comfortable with the process. If we are beginning an evaluation, I’ll also explain what testing will look like and which areas we’ll be focusing on. If we are starting therapy, we’ll discuss how sessions typically work and outline your treatment goals together.
Overall, the first session is less about jumping straight into problem-solving and more about building a foundation of trust and understanding, so we can move forward in a way that feels supportive and meaningful for you.
